"The Package" (Lost Thoughts)

Well, how about that ending?  I want to say shocking, but it kind of wasn't.  More on that in a minute.

So this was a Jin/Sun episode.  Their sideways story was about on target.  Nothing shocking, not married, she's pregnant (saw that coming), her father is a bastard, etc.  Man, the guy that plays Keamy is pretty awesome.  I loved his moment with Jin in the meat locker.  Like he was actually sorry he had to kill Jin.  How screwed are Jin and Sun now.

Island: I doubt that Locke would have hurt Sun.  I think he really needs her and Jack and Sawyer and he is so desperate to get off that Island that he is willingly to kill God or whoever so he's thinking that persuading Sun and the rest should be a piece of cake.  And then she runs and looks back which is always a mistake and now she can't speak English.  Poor lady.  Oh and he basically gave Crazycakes Claire permission to kill Kate as soon as he can get all the candidates together.  Does he really want to just take them off the Island or is he planning on killing all of them?  And Claire was looking awfully put out that her name wasn't on the list.  And Locke comforts her by offering up Kate.  Dude, she left him with your mom so that should make it better I would think.  Also you abandoned your child in a forest to wander off with your dead dad.  Kate did you a favor.

I love that Illana has such faith in Jacob and he turns out to be right when Richard comes back with Hurley and wants them to go over to Hydra Island.  We didn't get too much information out of that storyline.  I think Jack is stepping up to be the new Jacob.  He sounded a little like him when he was talking to Sun.  That would be an awesome finale if Jack was the new Jacob and Locke was still MIB because that is like an old rivalry.

Widmore is a worthy opponent to Locke.  He set up those pylons to keep him out and seemed to have Locke's number.  Locke was not happy about that situation, but then he had Sayid, who is now devoid of any human emotion, to do his dirty work.  And a Sayid who can't feel anything, especially guilt and regret, is a very dangerous Sayid indeed.

And, of course, the package: a very drugged up Desmond.  I guess the Island still needs him and Widmore used that to locate it.  Is Desmond the last candidate?  Because I count Sun or Jin, Jack, Hurley, Sawyer, Sayid which is only 5 really unless you are counting Sun and Jin as 1 and 2.  Ilanna just said there were six people to protect, not six candidates left right?  It would be cool and would explain why Desmond keeps getting dragged to that Island.  He seemed to recognize Sayid even in the condition he was in.  Poor Desmond.  Taken from Penny and little Charlie for Widmore's plan to save the world from MIB.  Does Widmore know the whole story or is he really just guessing from legends and stories?  What are those stories?  Please share with the rest of us.  I'd like to say I was shocked but I wasn't.  I figured it would be Desmond at the end.  Still a great ending though.

Whoosh

Before I fall asleep, when I'm brusing my teeth or taking a shower, I always think of great topics for this blog.  I can write them in my head.  But by the time I make it to a computer with enough time to write a blog, my topics are gone.  Whoosh, right out of my head.  So that's why my topics seem so random.  I have wonderful thought provoking things to say and then I talk about potty training.  I think that's why I do so much better on my book blog.  I mean, I read a book, I review it.  Done.  Moving on.  But with this one, it's more personal, more about what I want to say.  And sometimes the only thing I can think of is "Potty training sucks."

Going to see the Mouse

esterday we found out that we are going to Disney World in June with my family (my parents, sister, cousin and wife and their daughter, and some of her family and my aunt)!  We are so excited but there is so much to do before then.  Since we didn't know we were going, we now have to save up money and I need to hoarde my vacation time until then.  7 weeks away and now we have to start getting ready while everyone else had been for a year  It's just that my mom really wanted us to go and so she made it possible for us to get there.  I have the best parents!

 So we asked Bub if he wanted to go see the castle and Mickey Mouse which might have been a mistake.  Because last night he put on his footie pjs and told me to put on my shoes so we could go drive in Mommy's car.  When I asked where, he finally told me we were going to see Mickey Mouse.  I had to explain that first Mommy had to have a birthday and then we could go.  Then I felt all crafty and told him that he had to be able to use the potty and not wear diapers before he could go see Mickey.  He was ready to put on his underwear right then, but it is sleepytime so that wasn't going to work.

Then this morning after he was dressed he announced that we were going to see Micky Mouse.  I explained again about my birthday and waiting and being potty trained.  Same conversation after the dentist.  I think I'm going to have this conversation a lot over the next 7 weeks.  But I'm hoping he will be willing to potty train if he thinks he can't see Mickey while wearing diapers.  I hope.  *fingers crossed*

"Ab Aeterno" (Lost thoughts)

hat we learn:

 I'm back in love with Lost and I ♥ Richard Alpert like so very much.  Damn!  That man had a hard life  Seriously, his wife dies and he accidentally kills the bastard doctor who wouldn't give him medicine for his wife, goes to prison, won't get absolution from the asshole corrupt priest, is sold as a slave and ends up on the Black Rock destined for the Island.  Then the stupid Englishman goes all crazy and starts stabbing the slaves.  And ole Smokey comes and kills everyone but Richard but looks into his soul or whatever and I guess decides that Richard is worthy of the murder of Jacob or something.  Then he tricks Richard into thinking that "the devil" has his wife and sends Richard off to murder Jacob who kicks the crap out of Richard.

Basically this story was all about how Richard ended up ageless on some mysterious Island with gods fighting or whatever the hell is going on.  The original recipe Man in Black was back and he was trying to trick Richard into thinking that Jacob was the devil and they were all dead.  He admitted to being the Black Smoke straight out though so I wonder if he can only lie by telling the truth, as the devil does.  When he gave Richard the knife to kill Jacob, he gave the same rules that Dogen gave Sayid, don't let him talk to you, stab him in the chest.  More evidence he was trying to trick Ricard into thinking that Jacob is the devil?

Jacob talks to Richard after the murder attempt.  He says he brings people to the Island to prove MIB wrong, that people are not inherently sinful, but he doesn't like to interfere since he doesn't think he shouldn't have to and it would be meaningless if he had to tell them to be good.  He enlists Richard to help.  Richard wants his wife back, then absolution but Jacob cannot give him either.  Then he asks never to die so he doesn't have to face Hell and Jacob smiles and says he can give him that and touches Richard's shoulder and that is how Richard became immortal.  He also explained how MIB is bad.  He picks up the wine bottle and says that the wine is evil/darkness and the cork is the Island keeping evil locked (ha, see what I did there) inside.  So then Jacob is the keeper of the bottle?

MIB's offer to Richard still stands.  The offer to take him off the Island?  I'm not entirely sure.  And he gives Richard his cross back who then buries it.   140 or so years later Richard digs it up and wants to take up the MIB on his offer, but Hurley pops up talking to Richard's dead wife who says he must let her go and that he has to stop the Man in Black from getting off the Island or they will all go to hell. DUN!

So all evidence is pointing to MIB being pure evil and Jacob is his brother's keeper or something.  Oh he gives MIB the metaphor wine bottle who promptly smashes it showing that there is more than one way to release the metaphor evil/wine.  They have a fairly friendly conversation before like people who have been together for a long time.  But MIB is resentful of his imprisonment.  Jacob also mentions that even if he is killed then there will be someone to take his place and MIB says he will kill all of them too.  So, uh oh, for our dear candidates.  This would explain the list on the cave wall and the scratching out of names.

Well, now one of the biggest mysteries on the Island has a back story and I thought this episode was really well done and we didn't have to endure any Sideways stories which is always a plus.

A sickly moment of dark surprise

The other day was my uncle's birthday, the one who died from cancer in 2007.  He would have been 61.  I still miss him as does my family.  It's hard sometimes.  Sometimes I am still surprised by how much I miss him.  I've had other family members die, grandparents, other aunt, a cousin, but I don't miss them the way I do him.  I guess because I didn't see them often.  But I saw my uncle almost every week.  His is the first death that effected my everyday life.  I try to think of the things that we used to talk about or the stories he would tell.  I wish he could see how Bub is growing up and I think they would like each other.  I don't know.  I just feel sad about it still.  He was a good man and it was a shame he had to go when he did.   We all still miss him and love him and I hope he knows that.

Thoughts about timing babies

I'll be honest.  There is a part of me that wants to have another baby right now.  I miss having a sweet little baby to hold and cuddle.  I liked being pregnant.  And there is such possibility when you are pregnant.  And I don't want to be too old.  I know I'm only 31, but the older you get and so on and I don't want to be too old. 

But I have my little boy who is 3 and so sweet and wonderful.  And he is just beginnning to be affectionate where he will tell me he loves me and give me spontaneous kisses and hugs.  And, yes, we are in the middle of the terrible questions "3's" which is maddening, but he is just so great.  And throwing a baby into the mix wouldn't work out great right now.

I really want him to potty trained before another baby which is what we are struggling with right now.  I need him to understand and take direction and to be more gentle (ha!).  He is getting to the phase where he is interested in babies and thinks they are cute. (The other day my aunt's neighbor came over with her 6 month old and he said she was so cute.  Of course, he said the same thing about the dog...)  It really would be better for him to be closer to kindergarden and that way he'd have his own stuff and would be a better big brother.  There are many other reasons not related to Bub for why we need to wait, money is a big one, my lack of vacation time is another.   But I sometimes I still yearn for a little baby right now.

Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging

Based on the Georgia Nicholson books by Louise Rennison, specifically Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging and It's OK, I'm Wearing Really Big Knickers (On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God in the U.S., this was an adorable movie.  The girl who plays Georgia (Georgia Groome) is so dead-on and Jaz (Eleanor Tomlinson) is really great too though with no fringe and very skinny, not quite how I pictured her.  But anyway, everyone does a fantastic job.

Georgia is planning her fifteen birthday party with her friends, the Ace Gang.  They are very silly girls who like to randomly dance and have the most awesome slang.  Georgia and Jaz are both taken with the new twins, Robbie and Tom, and set out to get their attention.  Robbie starts dating Georgia's rival, but seems to take an interest in Georgia as well.  So she resorts to trickery to make Robbie jealous and like her, but then it backfires and Georgia must try to fix it.

ATPS (for short) is co-written and directed by Gurinder Chadha. who did Bend It Like Beckham and Bride and Prejudice, two of my favorite movies.  And she does an excellent job with this movie.  It does a great job of tying the two books together and the plot and characters changes are minor, Robbie and Tom are twins instead of just brother, for example.  But the story stays intact.  The only thing was the ending, which was great, but since I've read all the books I really wanted to see a little of that.  But the ending of the movie is similar to the end of the books so I can't really say anything bad about it.  This is definitely going to be one of my go to movies when I need a pick me up.

"Recon" (Lost Thoughts)

hat did we learn:

Locke (MIB) had a crazy mom because of whom he suffered from "growing pains" and has issues he is still holding onto.  Now Aaron has a crazy mom too who tried to kill Kate and then later gave a teary apology after a slap and a talking to from Locke. I'm still going to go with gods and this will hold up under the "mom" issue because most gods have crazy moms and/or dads.  A lot of parent issues with gods.  Someone will have a better theory about who though, I'm sure.

Sayid is now crazy too but in a disaffected way, not a Claire/Rousseau way.  He watched Claire's murder attempt without stopping it.  I think he is just overcome with Locke's promise and what he did.

Kate is wandering around being useless and almost getting killed as usual.

Sawyer became a cop in Sideways world as a result of his parent's murder/suicide, but his goal is still to kill Anthony Cooper.  Oh Sawyer, how far, yet how close.  He is still a charmer and he captured FelonKate at the end of that story.  If he is a cop, then why did he let her go at the airport?  I don't think he is all that dedicated to the law despite his police status.

Sawyer on the Island is playing the long con or really just hedging his bets.  I guess he figures that Locke and Widmore will kill each other leaving him out of it.  I doubt it will be as clean as all that.  So I guess Widmore is on Jacob's side?  Seeing how he wants to kill Locke and all.  Locke was playing Jacob all that time in the cabin with Ben so I guess the real Jacob went and saw Widmore at the some point.  And Widmore did send Keamy and his friends to capture/kill Ben so Widmore wanted to remove Ben from the situation.  Because Ben can be very clever.  Why can't they kill each other again?  Same reason as Jacob and his enemy?  Anyway,...

Nancy Drew: Detective and Reporter

I discovered that there are some old Nancy Drew movies from the late 1930's and I thought it would be fun to watch them since I am working my way through the original books.

Nancy Drew: Detective
Based on the Password to Larkspur Lane,  there are significant changes to Nancy's personality and the personality of Ned, now Ted, and her father.  She is given a hard time by all the men, a lot more so than in the books and they treat her like a little girl most of the time.  That bothered me because Mr. Drew always supported Nancy and encouraged her to sleuth, but in the movies he doesn't do that.  Ted is more of a foible and talks back to her and goes along reluctantly.  He is also her next door neighbor.  I know that these movies would have to be based on the orginal text of the books, but I doubt Ted (Ned) would have ever been so mean to Nancy.  He is rather good looking though and they obviously like each other.  Nancy tends to use her feminine wiles and "women's intuition" a lot and it usually backfires, but she would never behave that way in the books.

The plot similar to the book but there is no Bess or George or Helen so Ted is her companion.  Mrs. Eldrigde promised Nancy's school some money and then she disappears so Nancy sets out to find her despite the protests of her father and the police chief.  She, of course, finds out what happened and there is much excitement in the meantime.  It's a fun movie though not the greatest portrayal of Nancy Drew.


Nancy Drew: Reporter

Nancy goes on an internship to a newspaper and goes to court where she hears about a murder case.  An old lady was poisoned by a photography chemical.  A young lady named Eula Denning is accused though she says she didn't do it.  Nancy notices a man with cauliflower ear at the inquest who later hits Nancy's car and drives away.  Nancy chases him down and gets money for repairs, but notices that he is acting suspicious.  She later hunts down the can of poison that would have the real killer's fingerprints on it, but it is stolen from her.  Nancy puts Ted in the boxing ring with the man to find out more and then sets up the man and his girlfriend and so the mystery gets solved.
Same changes as with the above movie, but fun.

Playing with new Blogger

I've been experimenting with the new blogger templates trying to make this a little more custom and separating out the sidebar sections.  I think it is looking pretty good and I like how much you can customize the templates especially the 3 column and split column that are already included.  I'd like to do something like this with The Little Bookworm but I can't with the new menu bar I just got. :(  Still pretty neat.

Giving up on Project Runway?

I think I may have given up on Project Runway.  It doesn't hold the appeal that it use to and I'm getting a little bored by everyone.  I stuck with it through the last awful season and so I can't help feeling like I should stick it out this season too.  But it has lost it's it, that something that made it great before.  I think it has something to do with the move to Lifetime though I can't say why.  The move just didn't do the show any favors.

"Dr. Linus" (Lost thoughts)

I'm sick and I just watched last night's episode.  That's right.  I felt so bad last night that I skipped it and went to bed.

hat did we learn:

I knew they weren't going to kill Ben last night.  I loved his speech to Ilana.  It was so heartfelt that I think he meant it.  And that he didn't go with Locke because Ilana would have him and I think he knows that Locke is telling people what they want to hear because that is what Ben use to do.  Of course, I think Ben was serving Locke the whole time and not Jacob.

I love that he gave up what he wanted for Alex and that it was the right thing to do.  Of course, he has more sway with the principal now.  This syncs up with my idea that Sideways World is being built by Locke.  Ben is carrying around the knowledge that he should have saved his daughter but didn't and now Sideways Ben did what Island Ben couldn't.

There are only six candidates left: Jack, Hurley, Sawyer, Sayid, one of the Kwons, and who?  I'm not sure unless she was thinking of both the Kwons, but Sayid is out of the running too now.  I would assume what with the murdering and craziness and all.  But Ilana wouldn't know that yet.

The other interesting thing was Richard who returned to the Black Rock and said it had been a long time since he had been there.  So I guessing that he was a slave on the ship and that was the ship that Jacob and the MIB were watching.  He wants to kill himself and asks Jack to help, but the fuse goes out because Jack guesses that they have a higher purpose since Jacob touched them.  So does that mean that the others won't die too.  Could that be why Jin survived the explosion of the ship?  I can't wait to find out more about Richard.

Also at the end Charles Widmore is shown coming to the Island.  Is that who Jacob said was coming?  DUN

11 1/2 years, married for 5 1/2

3. How long did you know each other before you started dating?
About 3 weeks I said.  It's hard to say exactly because time moved differently back when I was in college.  It was less regimental.

4. Who asked who out?
I made BT ask him by saying So are we ever going to do something other than hang out here? (at our friends' apartment) and then we went and playing mini-golf later that week.

5. How old are each of you?
Both 31. My birthday is about 6 weeks before his.

6. Did you go to the same school?
Sort of yes, we attended the same undergraduate school that I graduated from for a little while, but he moved on to 2 other universities before finishing his degree.  Then I went to grad school where he got his bachelors.


7. Are you from the same home town?
No.  He is originally from MA and we both moved to different cities in LA when we were 13 before meeting at college.

8. Who is the smartest?
Equal but in different ways.  He is really good with math and science and I am very language oriented.

9. Who majored in what?
I have an Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters of Library and Information Science.  He has his Bachelor of Science in Horticulture.

10. Who is the most sensitive?
Me, I get upset more often.

11. Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? Disney World in Florida for our honeymoon

12. Who has the worst temper?
Me, I'm more likely to get angry.  I also hold a grunge longer.

13. How many children do you want?
Two.  I've told BT that it's either 2 kids or 2 pregnancies.  So now that we have one, we can only have one more.

14. Who does the cooking?
BT because he is excellent at it.  Me, not so much.

15. Who is more social?
BT who is much more comfortable talking to people.  I don't do well with small talk.

16. Who is the neat freak?
Neither of us and it can be a problem.  He is more sensitive about crumbs though.

Tie

18. Who wakes up earlier?
BT when he has to open his store at 4:30!

Mini-golf

Immediate family - him.  He has a twin brother and a 8 years younger sister.  I have one sister, but I also have a larger extended family though.

We alternate between our two families.  One gets Thanksgiving one year and then Christmas the next.

23. Who is more jealous?
Neither. 

24. How long did it take to get serious?
About 2 months.  I'm pretty sure it was a given that we were going to stay together even though we had some really rough patches.

I'm a librarian.  He manages a Starbucks.

27. Who does the laundry?
Both though he has been doing it on his day off during the week to save me.  I wash Bub's clothes though because BT doesn't know what to do with them.

29. Who drives when you are together?
Usually him especially since he got his new car.

Our wedding song was "When you say nothing at all" but I'd say that Nina Gordon's "Tonight and the Rest of your life" is a little closer to what it should be.

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

Yesterday afternoon I saw Alice in Wonderland by Tim Burton.  I must say that I enjoyed it.  The visuals are beautiful and the story is pretty good.  Alice the book is very hard because it isn't really a story, just a girl wandering from one weird situation to another.  But this movie isn't a straight telling of the book.  It is a reimagining where Alice is grown up and is facing a big decision in her life.  I won't go into too much detail about the plot but there is an attempt to make the plot elements more cohesive with the upward time movement of the story.  It works as much as any attempt to make Alice in Wonderland cohesive and it was nice to see more of two of my favorite characters, The Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter.  Johnny Depp does a great job as that character as does Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen.

I would have like a little more back story for a lot of the plot.  I would have like to understand what the Hatter was saying a lot of the time too, but we don't always get what we want.  Anyway, it is a beautiful movie, sweet and moving and the costumes were amazing.  So thumbs up from me.

"Sundown" (Lost thoughts)

I'm still waiting for answers.  I'm serious.  I'm getting tired of this. I know not every epsiode can be GIANT crazy reveal or anything, but just throw me a little something now and then.  Also I know the sideways stories (hee) are going to mean something someday, but I find them a little boring right now.
So quickly,

ideways:

Nadia is married to Sayid's brother, Omer, because Sayid doesn't feel worthy of her since he is a badass killer and all.  His brother took out a loan from the very shady (yet sexy) Martin Keamy who we last saw killing everyone before Ben killed him.  But that was a different universe or something.  Anyway, Omer is mysteriously mugged even though he already payed the loan back and Keamy's guys bring Sayid to meet him in order to get Sayid to convince his brother to keep paying out.  Sayid kills the two bodyguards in about 10 seconds and when Keamy tries to negotiate, Sayid shoots him anyway to be on the safe side.  Sayid then finds No English Jin locked up in the freezer.

sland:

Claire is sent to deliver a message which is that Locke wants to see Dogen who is not a fool and knows that Locke wants to kill him so he doesn't go.  He sends Sayid out to stab Locke but that doesn't work and Locke convinces Sayid that he can give him what he wants.  What Sayid wants is to be with Nadia and Locke says he can get him that.  So Sayid goes back and has a nice conversation with Dogen who reveals that he was sent to the Island by Jacob in exchange for his son's life because Dogen had put him in the hospital after a drunken car accident.  Then Sayid drowns Dogen and slits Lennon's throat, saying he knows that the only thing keeping Locke/Smokey out is Dogen.  Everyone has till sundown to decide whether to stay or go.  If you stay, then you die.  Most everyone leaves.  Smokey comes and kills everyone, but misses Illana, Sun, Frank, and Miles. Oh and Ben who went to retrieve Sayid who has gone to crazytown so Ben leaves him.  Kate foolishly tells Crazy!Claire at some point that she took Aaron and Claire gets mad face but shakes it off.  When Smokey comes, Kate jumps into the pit where Claire is being held and so she isn't killed.  I'm guessing Claire wants to do the Kate killing herself.  After all the killing, Sayid emerges with Claire and Kate and they walk over the dead bodies with the eerie music of Claire singing "Catch a Falling Star" playing in the background.  Kate's face is disbelieving.  Locke is standing on the other side of the Temple with all the people who got out in time aka his new followers, Lockies (?).  He nods and smiles at Sayid and Claire and looks at Kate non too happily.  They set off. DUN

Locke/MIB is an angry man who was trapped by Jacob.  Now that Jacob is dead, he wants to kill every living thing on the Island.  But I think that was obvious before.  I still think Jacob is a god, but now I'm wondering if MIB is one too or what is he?  I'm not sure anymore.  Demi-god?  He is really good at infecting people.  Rousseau went mad as did her crew, Claire is crazycakes and now Sayid is too.  The thing is that Sayid is really good at killing people which is why it is good to have him on your side.  I wonder if they were struggling over Sayid's soul and that is why Jacob said to save Sayid.  Because Locke is a lot stronger with Sayid on his side now.  Claire is fine, but Sayid is a stone cold killer no matter how much he doesn't want to be.  He tries and tries not to, but he is what he is.  I think that was the point of the scence where Sayid the child kills the chicken without hesitation.  He was just born that way.  Is it his destiny?  Like Saywer, I think Sayid is tired of being who he is and that is why he went willingly with Locke.  He just wants something good.

The thought occured to me that maybe the Sideways world is the reality that Locke is creating for the castaways if they join him.  Like here is the thing you want but you don't get in it in the way you want kind of deal the devil makes.  So maybe it's not entirely real yet, but as they join him it becomes more real.

Whatca Say?

I am notoriously bad at recognizing celebrities in real life. Of course, I've only run into a celebrity twice in my life. Both times someone else had to point them out and say Look. It's so and so. And I never believed them. Ever. Besides what do you say? I'm not an autograph OMG type person and I certainly don't want to bother anyone.

Which leads me to another topic. Book authors. They are my own brand of celebrity. The kind I am actually excited to meet. They add value to the world, literacy etc. and are usually very nice and I have never know what to say to any of them. Granted I've only meet them at library conferences where you have like 5 seconds to say something witty and urbane and I can be so terminally shy that it doesn't work out. So I end up standing there like a mute idiot, getting my book signed and walking away. Oh why wasn't I blessed with the ability to say Hi in a reasonable manner?

For example, at one conference I meet Maureen Johnson and I was so excited that I made my friend stand in line too. I waited and finally made it up there and then all I could manage was something about a certain book banning of hers that was a big topic at the time. Which was everyone else was talking to her about! So lame and so unoriginal. She's seems like a cool gal so I should have something else prepared.
At the same conference (I think) I meet Rachel Cohn since she was signing with David Leviathan. I had read her Gingerbread books but, honestly, I hadn't read anything by him. Anyway, they both had short stories in a book I had just read. I mentioned it and she said she had forgotten she had written it. My one topic! So then I just stood there.
My friend KRose is a different story. She attended a conference with me in Chicago and meet Libba Bray who I had talked nonstop about forever. But she was scheduled at the same time as some workshop and I stupidly choose the workshop and missed meeting her. But KRose got a book autographed for me and apparently had a wonderful conversation with her. Which is so cool. I wish I could be as outgoing as that. KRose can talk to anyone at anytime and she never feels awkward or anything. And I don't know why I do either. I mean, the odds that anyone will remember me is teeny-tiny. If I could only think of something to say...

Social Justice - bowing out this month

I failed so much at the Social Justice Challenge last month.  I didn't read or watch anything or complete any action steps.
This month's issue is domestic/child abuse and I'm bowing out on this month right now.  Those are very important issues, don't get me wrong.  But they make me heartsick and I can't deal with it.  I just can't.  So I'll be a bystander this month.  Sorry.
