Going to the movies
Today I am going to see Eclipse with my friends and I fully anticipate a lol worthy time. I hope. I hear it is good and better than New Moon but then it really can't get worse. Cleolinda liked it so that's something. I think it will be a fun time. But this might be my last Twilight movie. I just don't know if I want to see Breaking Dawn given how much I hated that book. Though it is because of it that I discovered Cleolinda at all so I'll give it credit for that.

Twilight Sweethearts

So today my friend came to my work for a school-related reason but came to visit me in my office since she hadn't seen it yet. Anyway, she generously brought me some Twilight Sweethearts: Forbidden Fruits Flavors. This is my Twitter feed upon opening them up and eating them.
mumford5: I got some Twilight Sweethearts! They are sparkly and smell good!
mumford5: They do not taste good, but they are pretty.
mumford5: I don't know if that is a subtle commentary of Twilight itself or not, but they do sparkle.
mumford5: In fact, they actually taste like perfume.
mumford5: But I appreciate her giving them to me, it was so nice!
When I say that they taste like perfume, I am not kidding. It is a strange sort of taste. The only ones that are okay are the orange ones which I'm told are Orange Obsession (sparkles). The other flavors are Tempting Apple, Passion Fruit (sparkles), and Secret Strawberry. The sparkling ones, much like Edward, don't so much sparkle as kind of shimmer.
Also the box tells me that "The Forbidden Fruit Tastes the Sweetest." So I don't know what that means but there is really nothing that sweet about them. The hearts say things like "I <3 EC" and "Bad Guy" and "With You" and "Forks" as well as "Trust Me" and "Trust You" so yeah, they are very twilighty.

Twilight le film
Okay, so I saw Twilight yesterday afternoon. I went with two of my friends and some of their friends/family-types. My friend S is a huge Twilight fan esp. Edward and I am a big fan too but I can laugh at some of the idiocy that happens and she takes it more seriously. That being said, we laughed through the whole first part of the movie esp. when Edward meets Bella in science class and the look on his face is some crazy like he's going to vomit on her. There were parts that we intentionally funny and then there were the parts that weren't. Anyway, I liked it but I might do better with a second viewing. I liked the kiss scene and Bella's crazy hormonal thing and that they showed them talking and getting to know each other. But the sleep watching thing was way creepy in real life and I'm glad they didn't show it much and their obsession with each other was crazier since it was illustrated better for how short a time they knew each other.
Also there should have been more Emmett.

The Marriage of Bella and Edward
So I'm probably a little late on this, but I've been thinking. One of my friends loves Edward but I've always been a Jacob fan. I still liked Edward, but something about the Edward/Bella combo bothered me. Since we know what happens to them now, I finally figured it out.
I was talking to one of my younger cousins about it. And this thought struck me, what are they going to do with forever? Seriously, how is that marriage going to survive in the real world? (Yes, fiction I know.) But Edward & Bella were basically "I love you forever" immediately. Well, once they actually had a conversation that is. It was this weird intense thing that teenagers sometimes get for each other (adults too but whatever). They are both like inseparable and even in that suicidal thing that was New Moon, they were still all over each other. But that kind of emotion doesn't last forever. I'm sorry, but it doesn't. After a while, the day-to-dayness of being married takes over. Yes, I know vampires, but come on. After the first book, they never have conversations with each other except the "love me, no don't love me" and "why do you love me" conversations that go on and on. If there were two people who weren't good enough for each other, it's Bella and Edward, if only cause they both believe it. In Breaking Dawn, they barely speak to each other and just have sex like all the time after she vampires up and then play with Renesmee during the day. Oh, and learn to fight. I just don't know what they are going to DO together. They are basically pretty boring without their "epic" love/triangle/drama thing that they do.
I also think that when Stephanie Meyer's revisits her vampires sometime in the future, it will be a Renesmee/Jacob/who-the-other-half-vampire-guy-is book. Will Jacob ever not be in a triangle? Maybe Renesmee will resist the imprinting or something. Probably not.
For the record, I love all these books. I even like Breaking Dawn. Hey, it's SM's world, we just read about it.
