Dollhouse with BONUS Vampire Diaries!
So last Friday was the premiere of Dollhouse. Let me sum it up Twitter-style (includes actual Tweets!)
Opening of show, something with Ballard. Echo is getting married.
@ Echo's wedding dress reminds me of my own.
@ Unexpected development. What is Ballard's function now?
* Echo walks in & is actually Ballard's undercover partner. Still don't know what his function is.
* Ah, he is the client. ?
@ I love Amy Acker. And now Wesley.
@ Alexis Denisof, I mean!
* He is a member of Congress trying to take down the Dollhouse. Can't wait to see more.
@ I miss November. She was so pretty.
* Exposition on why Ballard released November and kept Echo. Adele implying a lot.
@ Can't wait for Summer Glau to join the cast
@ Ok, Claire is creeping me out.
* Claire is having a hard time with being a doll IRL and is trying to seduce Topher who is creeped out.
* They are crying and discussing the fact that she is real even if she doesn't think so.
* Echo remembers what happened and wants to find the people inside of her.
* Ballard agrees. He becomes her new handler.
* Claire drives away to discover herself or something.
@ Well, that was unexpected. Gearing up for a great season, I'm sure!
And then I watched the season premire of Vampire Diaries that I had saved.
@ I ended up watching Vampire Diaries first episode. Not sure. Does it get better?
@ Although the hotness of Ian Somerhalder might keep me around for a couple more episodes.
@ I will try one more episode just to see.
But I'm not going to try because it was boring and even Ian Somerhalder looks weird so whatever.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (movie)
So Sunday, we went to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. It wasn't showing in 3D at our local theater but that was fine. I liked it. It was very cute and funny. If you think it's going to be like the book, then think again. Flint Lockwood is a failed inventor until he invents a machine that can change water into food. When his invention is shot in the sky and it starts to rain food, everyone is excited until giant food starts to fall from the sky. The movie does include some of the iconic images from the book including the jello "sunset," pancakes on the school, and the roofless restaurant. The animation was very curvy and fluid.
The little man seemed to like it especially the giant gummy bears. And the little kids sitting next to me enjoyed it as well. There were some very funny parts that made the whole audience laugh and I really liked Sam Sparks, the TV weatherperson sent to cover the phenomenon.

Wings (movie)
So I finished Wings (Pike) last night. And I was thinking about the upcoming movie that will star Miley Cyrus as Laurel, the girl who suddenly sprouts a flower about of her back and learns she is a fairy. I won't go into how inaccurate the title Wings is for that book now, but, sufficient to say, it is.
Anyway, I like Miley Cyrus and I think she is very pretty, but she is so not right for Laurel. Laurel is suppose to be slight and ethereal looking, and Miley is not any of those things. That's the thing about Disney girls, they are always very pretty but in a relateable way. They have to be so the tween girls will love them and assume they are approachable and just like them. But Laurel isn't pretty in that way. She is fashion model pretty. So I was thinking Taylor Momsen for Laurel, but she is too edgy. And then last night before I went to sleep I thought that Taylor Swift would be perfect. She is so beautiful that she has always kind of freak me out. She just looks Laurel. I know my opinion doesn't mean much and that Miley is confirmed for the movie. But I doubt I'll go see the movie. I mean, I doubt I would have gone anyway given my opinion that the book is eh so no real loss there.
So what do you think?

Celluloid Sewing (or "Lights, Camera, Sew!")
The designers are given a one day challenge. Create a look based on a genre of film. So the rest of the episode consists of various people trying to pronounce genre correctly. Only Tim Gunn can actually do it. Tim Gunn is made of win though.
So here is the breakdown:
Nicolas - Science Fiction
Goradana - Period Piece
Irina - Film Noir
Epperson - Western
Logan - Action Adventure
Carroll Hannanh - Action Adventure
Ram'on - Science Fiction
Louise - Film Noir
Althea - Film Noir
Christopher - Period Piece
Shirin - Western
Ram'on is excited to get science fiction since he is a big sci-fi fan. He decided to make his model look like some reptilian type thing. I don't know.
Nicolas gives a version of the infamous "Not here to make friends" speech only he does it nicely for a change. Tim Gunn comes to look around. He is seduced by Epperson's ruffles, Ram'on's is either going to be good or a "big hot mess," Louise can take it up a notch, Nicolas needs to go bigger. Ram'on decides to start over because no matter what it is going to be a big mess so why not make it worse?
Judging: why is Heidi dressed like a sparkly grunge person? She continues to confuse me.
Judges: Heidi, Zoe Glassner (again), John Varvatos, Arianne Phillips (costume designer)
I'm skipping "descriptions" of the runway because frankly I really couldn't describe some of those things and it's too hard with 11 designers.
Top 3:
Nicolas - white evil Ice Queen from space gown. I have to say that with the hair and makeup, it really does look like a film costume. The entire look is amazing.
Epperson - Annie Get you Gun western dress made of denim with ruffles and a leather belt and gun holster, very cool
Christopher - Victorian vampire with a great bustle in the back and lots of layers, film worthy as they say
Bottom 3:
Ram'on - green reptile print dress thing, but at least he tried. Zoe (?) called it a "hot green mess" so that's not good
Louise - 20/40's flapper dress that is very confused and isn't really special
Gordana - flapper dress, very pretty, very well made but nothing over the top
Winner: Nicolas (good for him, although I liked Christopher's better but I would have been happy with any of the top three)
Out: Ram'on!!!! He was robbed because Louise's dress was not nearly as creative as he was trying to be and at least he had a story behind his dress. And Ram'on has always been a stronger designer than Louise anyway.

Recent trip to Galveston, TX
So my sister was going on a cruise and they were leaving out of Galveston and she talked me and my parents into driving over there to see her. We packed up and drove over on Saturday morning and got there about 4 and checked into the hotel. It was nice. I got a king sized bed for me and the little boy and we got an adjorning room to my parents so we could go in and out and I could Bub down to sleep and not have to stay in the room with him. At about 2:30 am I was awoken to "Mommy" and he was in my face. So I cuddled him up to me and we went back to sleep. But I was too hot with him sleeping on me so I got up and went to the other side of the bed. Then at 7:30 am I had a little boy in my face again, "Momma, momma, Momma. Wake up" and he was shaking me. We went and ate breakfast and went down to the beach and played for a little bit. Then checked out of the hotel and came home. It was a nice little trip. I liked Galveston. The downtown area was really cool.

All the Fashion that's Fit to Print (or "Fashion Headliners")
Heidi gave away the challenge in my opinion when she said it would be in black and white. I knew it was going to be a newspaper challenge and shame on the designers who couldn't figure it out even when standing in the LA Times printing presses or whatever. So the challenge is to make clothes from newspaper. The designers grab up what they want and head back to the workspace and then everyone wanders around for a while because they are like whut? I signed up for this! Yes, you are on Project Runway and long ago this is what the challenges were like, clever and fun to make you think outside the box. Then Tim Gunn comes in and gives a little history of paper clothes which was interesting.
And he goes around spreading sunshine and destroying dreams. I <3 Tim Gunn. He is positive about Gordana, Christopher, and Irina. He tells Johnny that, basically, his dress is awful and it looks like the (paper) birds attack the dress, not like they are carrying the dress as Johnny has so hoped. So Johnny balls in up and starts anew all while constructing an elaborate poor me lie in his little head. Yes! Because later Johnny decides that the iron spit water all over his beautiful Dior-like (!?) dress and ruined it so he rushed to make an awful one instead and didn't sit around playing a crossword or anything.
Judges: Heidi, Tommy Hilfiger (all the designers freak out a little), Zoe Glassner (Marie Claire), and Eva Longoria Parker. Let me say now that I liked Tommy Hilfiger, but I miss Nina and Michael Kors.
Runway:
Logan - pretty bamboo looking dress
Nicholas - eh, "punk" dress that wasn't really much too look at
Christopher - pretty long ballgown type dress with a great corset and a long foory skirt
Ram'on - short, folded origami dress
Epperson - Kimono/20's dress, cool
Johnny - Short dress with squares of eyes
Gordana - Short, pretty dress that looks like a dress
Carol Hannah - long gown, eh
Shirina - ?
Irina - trench coat with a cool collar
Althea - shiny dress that reminds me of the Empire State building
Louise (whose name I can never remember) - cool high collared dress with some nice details
On the runway, Johnny is a lying liar who lies and lies that he had this amazing dress that got ruined and Nicholas starts laughing so Heidi wants the scoop. Nicholas says it was not Dior at all and that Johnny threw it away when Tim Gunn didn't like it.
Top 3:
Christopher - comments from judges: looks like art, a WOW, too a risk and it paid off
Althea- genius
Irina- Coca Chanel 60/70s meets new, great alternative to fur
Bottom 3:
Gordana - but barely as it was too wearable and boring
Nicholas - looks like an insect, cockroaches
Johnny - Zoe was positive about it, but the rest said no
Irina is the winner!! I liked the coat, but I liked Christopher's dress better.
Johnny goes home. Thank goodness. Tim Gunn goes all Gossip Girl on us and is like that was a ridiculous piece of fiction. I've never seen Tim Gunn do that before. Johnny says that giving up a meth addiction was easier than Project Runway! Johnny is clearly insane.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
I can't even write a synopsis for this and do it justice. Here's the official description:
Subtitle: The Classic Regency Romance-Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem!
"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains." So begins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—& the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennett is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty & arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—& even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Can she vanquish the spawn of Satan? And overcome the social prejudices of the class-conscious landed gentry? Complete with romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism & thousands of rotting corpses, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you'd actually want to read.
Okay so this was a silly book and I don't mean that in the negative sense. It was a very clever book as well. The original text of Pride and Prejudice with some zombie additions and it sounds totally natural. It was just so odd to read P&P and then there is a casual mention of a zombie herd or Elizabeth has to behead something on her way to Meryton. It was so ... odd and quirky, very quirky. I did lol a couple of times and I loved the Darcy proposal scene complete with roundhouse kicks. I love that Lady Catherine is a master of the deadly arts and that she looks down on Elizabeth for training in China and not Japan. In fact this was my favorite exchange in the book:
Lady Catherine: "Have your ninjas left you?"
Elizabeth: "We never had any ninjas."
"No ninjas! How was that possible? Five daughters brought up at home without any ninjas! I never heard of such a thing. Your mother must have been quite a slave to your safety."
Elizabeth could hardly help smiling as she assured her that had not been the case.
These changes to the text are very clever and surprising to say the least. And the fates of some of the characters are so different, but completely understandable given the nature of the book. I have to say I wasn't too sure at first, but the more I read the more I got into it, zombies and all.

Fall TV
So nothing much has been going on. Tonight is the new Glee which I am excited about even though I doubt I'll get to watch it since it is the night I go to my mom's house for dinner. But I'm recording it and will watch it about 12 hours after everyone else. Glee is such a great show and I love the music.
Gossip Girl premiered Monday, but I'm still getting caught up from last season so I haven't watched that either. Dollhouse starts the 25th and I can't wait for that. And Bones starts on Thursday and BT will watch that with me, but I'm recording Vampire Diaries too. I still haven't watch the premiere. I'm looking forward to V and FlashForward. And that's about it. I'm hooked on Project Runway, of course, but mostly the DVR records pre-school television at my house.

Alice in Wonderland (Disney 1951)
Alice is bored with her tutor and decides that a world of nonsense would be fun. When she sees the White Rabbit, she follows him and falls down a rabbit hole. There she encounters the locked door, a cake labeled "Eat Me," and a big problem. After drinking she grows to a large size and cannot fit through the door. So she cries huge tears and then spies a bottle labeled "Drink Me" and she shrinks right into the bottle! Alice is carried away through the doorknob and meets many crazy creatures including Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Mad Hatter and March Hare, the Cheshire Cat (my favorite), and the Queen of Hearts. After almost losing her head to the Queen of Hearts, Alice is awoken by her tutor and goes off to have tea.
Actually a good portion of the movie is from Through the Looking Glass, but Disney picked the parts that are least terrifying. There's no Jabberwocky in this movie, though the Cheshire Cat sings the Jabberwocky poem. My favorite parts are the flower garden and the Walrus and the Carpenter. I always like the white rose since she is so beautiful and I felt sorry for the little oysters even though they are stupid. So it was nice revisiting Disney's Alice in Wonderland. I watched it with my little boy, but he was bored by most of it so it's not quite up to 2 year old standards. Maybe one day...

From the Library 8/12
Books:
The Messenger (audio) - written by Lois Lowry, read by David Morse
For the past six years, Matty has lived in Village and flourished under the guidance of Seer, a blind man, known for his special sight. Village was a place that welcomed newcomers, but something sinister has seeped into Village and the people have voted to close it to outsiders. Matty has been invaluable as a messenger. Now he must make one last journey through the treacherous forest with his only weapon, a power he unexpectedly discovers within himself.
The Taming of the Shrew (audio) - written by William Shakespare, read by full cast
The main plot depicts the courtship of Petruchio, a gentleman of Verona, and Katherina, the headstrong, obdurate, and eponymous shrew. Initially, Katherina is an unwilling participant in the relationship, but Petruchio tempers her with various psychological torments - the "taming" - until she is an obedient bride. The sub-plot features a competition between the suitors of Katherina's less intractable sister, Bianca.

Models in Charge! (or "What a Woman Wants" is not an ugly dress)
I miss the old way where the show would start with the model pick and we weren't subjected to 30 minutes of the models being bored. The only good thing about the Models of the Runway is the beginning and the end.
Anyway, this week the models are in charge and the designers have to design something for them for an industry event (and there actually is one later). I feel like they keep doing this challenge over and over, but whatever. It's a one day challenge. Everyone freaked out!
The models have some strange taste even though they know it is suppose to be for a work event, Shirin's model wants a royal blue jumpsuit. What!? Althea is making a "cigarette" jacket which confuses Tim until he figures out she means a smoking jacket. Oh, so clear now.
So they get their fabric from Mood and start work. Tim comes around with criticisms/i.e. helping (and woe to the bitch that doesn't listen). Epperson's dress is good, Logan has a smurf prom dress, Carol Hannah's is "robbing her model of her youth." Tim can be hardcore. Epperson is sad because he missses his family.
Judges: Heidi, Marc Bouwer, Zoe Glassner, and Jennifer Rade
Qrystal - black sheath with a ruffle thing on the strap - pretty but boring
Nicolas - white dress with a low back - very pretty
Irina - pretty print
Gordana - gold dress with a very cool woven detail on the front
Shirin - blue dress - can't really remember this one
Logan - blue dress with black lace - very 80's prom, would have looked great in Pretty in Pink or Teen Witch
Christopher - green and black dress - eh
Epperson - brown dress with cris-crossed layers on it - very cool
Johnny - purple dress with a flower detail on the waist - eh
Althea - 3 piece "suit" - very cool, model loves it
Louise - black dress with a ruffle collar - cool, nice detail (love that Fatima talks her up later)
Ram'on - blue dress with a big flower - eh
Carol Hannah - purple/black dress with a shiny pattern on the bottom - cool
So the top designers are Carol Hannah (edgy), Epperson (sexy, cool layering), Althea (everyone want to wear it and her model was one of the best walkers) and the bottom designers are Logan (prom dress), Johnny(bridesmaid), and Qrystal (boring).
Since boring is a mortal sin on Project Runway, Qrystal goes home. *sad*
Also there was a funny thing about Heidi and Epperson's model's boobs. Heidi wanted them to be perky and they didn't look so in that dress. She said she worked for Victoria's Secret too long and she is obsessed with boobs. True since she always brings it up anytime the tops don't fit right on the chest.
Models of the Runway:
I wish they would show the model side of the challenge instead of afterward. Anyway, the models actually go to an industry event and act like normal people (not like the Top Model models would act) and most wear what the designers made for them with the exception of Valerie (Qrystal's model) and Koji (Logan's model) which is good. Johnny's model is so cute and stays loyal and wears her little dress and it is fine. Christian Audigier from Ed Hardy is there and talks to various models and books Valerie for a show so good for her. Later, the designers stick with their models and Valerie goes home (again). And that's about it.

In from Netflix
Lately we've been watching a lot of TV shows together, but I'm trying to get caught up before my shows start. So I'm getting Gossip Girl season 2 and Dollhouse season 1. I can't wait for the new seasons of these shows. For the record, I had both of these shows on the DVR waiting to be watched and then I broke the DVR and lost all those shows. *sigh*
Gossip Girl - Season 2 (I love this season. It's even better than the books and that's saying something)
Expect even more shocking secrets revealed in this hit drama's second season, which continues to trail the privileged life of rich young Manhattan teens. The players, seen through the eyes of a blogger known only as "Gossip Girl" (narrated by Kristen Bell), include Serena (Blake Lively), who left Manhattan for boarding school, her friend Blair (Leighton Meester), who took Serena's place as the "popular girl," and Nate (Chace Crawford), Blair's boyfriend.
Dollhouse - Season 1 (I'm very happy that they renewed this show.)
Eliza Dushku stars as Echo, a member of an elite underground organization that sends its operatives on dangerous missions, then brings them back to their top-secret Dollhouse to wipe out all memory of the assignment. But when Echo starts to recall troubling bits and flashes from her former missions, she begins to question who she is and just what this powerful organization is doing.

Ballad Teaser
This is a teaser from Maggie Stiefvater's BALLAD, a novel involving homicidal faeries and kissing that's coming out October 1st.
Buy it here. Enter the contest at Maggie's blog here.
He turned towards me. For a long moment, he stood facing me. I was held, anchored to the ground – not by his music, which still called and pushed against the music already in my head and said grow rise follow – but by his strangeness. By his fingers, spread over the ground, holding something into the earth, by his shoulders, squared in a way that spoke of strength and unknowability, and most of all, by the great, thorny antlers that grew from his head, spanning the sky like branches.
Then he was gone, and I missed his going in the instant that the sun fell off the edge of the hill, abandoning the world to twilight.

Update on blog
You may have noticed a change in this blog. I talked before about how I can't settle on anything. But I was strangely burdened by the name Half Asleep in Plaid Pajamas which I changed to HA in Paisley PJs and made a new background and header for it and everything. But I felt pinned down by the name and couldn't decide what it was about. So after some thought, I decided on Annie, I Think which I liked a lot and think it reflects who I am. So here we are and I've picked a background that is very me as well. I'm not saying that won't change but the name is staying. I promise!
But now I feel I can talk about anything since most everything I post is really my thoughts on things I find interesting. And with my shows coming back on, I'll be discussing my TV shows a lot and movies, occasionally books (but I have a separate blog for that) and anecdotes from my real life too. I doubt I will be able to post everyday (it's tiring having to do that), but I plan on at least twice if not three times a week.

Ponyo
So the little man and I went to see Ponyo recently. It was the first time I took him to the movies alone and I was nervous that he wouldn't pay attention and we'd have to leave. But I wanted to see Ponyo and he has liked all the Miyazaki movies that we've watched. So off we went and I have to say it was a most enjoyable movie. The boy watched the whole thing and wasn't bored once although he did try to have a conversation about the movie with the boy in the row in front. The animation looked a little different than his other movies, rougher in places, more fluid in others. The storyline is a take on "The Little Mermaid." Ponyo is a little goldfish who falls in love with Sōsuke, a five year old boy. Defying her father, she goes to Sōsuke and tries to stay with him. But her father, a sorcerer, does not wish for her to be human so he enlists her mother, a sea goddess, to get Ponyo back.
It was such a sweet movie with a nice message about saving sea life. Like I said, the animation seemed rougher/sharper in some places like for the sorcerer, but was very fluid and soft for Ponyo and the water scenes. It was a nice choice since it showed the character of each scene.
I was also impressed with Noah Cyrus (Ponyo) and Frankie Jonas (Sōsuke). Both did a great job on the voices. I was afraid because sometimes the voice over actors are awful (Castle in the Sky), but everyone did a fine job. Other voices include Tina Fey (Sōsuke's mom), Matt Damon (Sōsuke's dad), Liam Nelson (Ponyo's dad), Cate Blanchett (Ponyo's mom) and as the old ladies in the nursing home: Lily Tomlin, Cloris Leachman & Betty White. It is such an amazing cast!
It was definitely worth our time to see Ponyo and I'm glad we got to see it in the theaters. And it was enjoyed by both the under 5 and the over 25.

Beachy Keen (or "Rumble on the Runway" everybody fights)
So this is very much after the show aired and I'm picking up at the third episode. I'd like to go back one day and at least do the maternity episode since I've been waiting for it for many seasons.
Anyway this week, the designers are tasked with making California surfwear in teams of two. Tim Gunn is flip-flops, sunglasses, and a blazer is the best thing. So the teams are:
Shirin - Carrol Hannah
Logan - Christopher
Nicolas - Gordana
Mitchell - Ram'on (Mitchell wants Ram'on to carry him and he does, but complains the whole time)
Althea - Louise
Qristyl - Epperson (then the whole episode she complains that he is taking over and she is suppose to be the team captain)
Johnny -Irina (picked last, that sucks)
So they start work and there is some clashing and then Tim Gunn goes in and announces that they have to create a second avant garde look. And then they all freak out. I can't really tell what is going on, but Qristyl and Epperson fight a lot and Ram'on bitches about Mitchell the whole time. And Mitchell is useless.
Judges: Heidi, Max Azria Nina Garcia, Rachel Bilson
Long story short: Ram'on wins with this avart garde dress he basically made at the last second. Mitchell is out since he can't sew and this is a show about sewing. Why was he here in the first place? Heidi is like this has never happened before, a captain goes home while his helper is the winner.
I like Shirin/Carol Hannah's outfit but whatever. This season is not that exciting and I can't remember everybody yet.
Meanwhile, the models are very happy that Ram'on won. There are apparently two sides about Mitchell, but he is out. His model is nervous. Vanessa is happy for Ram'on.
So we find out what happened with Erika, the model with the commercial. She wants to continue but goes off to the commercial instead. This show is so sad because they have like zero control over what happens. Anyway, models are a little boring, but it's interesting to see how invested they really are.

Catching Fire Poetic Review
For the Take a Chance Challenge, one of the task is a poetic review. Here are my attempts at this for Catching Fire.
Haiku
Katniss survived
The Capital seeks vengeance
Katniss prepares
Limerick
There once was a girl named "Catnip"
who caused the President pique.
While revenge he contrived
she tried to stay alive.
Of entertainment the Capital wasn't deprived.
Free Verse
Smart Girl
Hungry Girl
Plays the Games to save her sister
Wins by a trick
By a "love"
By a deception
Smart Girl
Confused Girl
Off on her Victory tour
Waits for the Capitol's anger
For their vengeance
For her own revenge

Pushing Daisies
Yes, I know this show has been canceled for a while now. But I always manage to miss shows when they are on (see here). So I've been getting the second season through Netflix. God, I love this show and I am so sad that it is canceled. Beautiful, funny, quirky, Pushing Daisies was a show right up my alley. And, of course, somehow I managed not to watch it on TV.
I love Lee Pace. I loved him in Wonderfalls and I love him here. He is so gorgeous and funny and sweet as Ned. Chi McBride is so awesome and amazing as Emerson and I like his sense of humor and delivery. I love Kristen Chenoweth. She is so small and cute and funny as Olive and I like when she sings. The rest of the cast is made of win as well. I love the bright colors and the beautiful locations. The clothes are so amazing. I wish I owned some of those clothes.
I haven't finished with the season yet, but I have a feeling that I'm going to be very disappointed that some of the bigger mysteries aren't going to get wrapped up. I hate ABC. They always cancel the good shows (like Fox) and leave the crap. I don't want to see more reality TV. I want to see awesome TV like Pushing Daisies.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (book)
Welcome to the town of ChewandSwallow where the food rains down and you never have to worry about your next meal.
That is until the weather starts acting wacky and giant food comes crashing down, crushing buildings and schools.
I know that the movie is coming out this summer and it doesn't look remotely like the book. It's been years since I read it. It was one of my favorites growing up. I always loved the idea of all the food coming down and everything looked so yummy on the page. I especially liked the giant pancake on the school and the hamburgers in the sky. Now some 20 years later, I still like those things, but I also kept thinking how sticky and messing everything would be and how much it would smell. It's a little long to read to the 2 year old right now, but it is definitely one we will be reading to him later. I hope it becomes one of his favorites too.
The art is very simple and line with strong lines.
I love the art work in this book. It is so pretty and I like the pictures a lot.
